Since I was a little kid I have been fascinated by beauty products. When I was 3 years old I put on the grey shiny eye shadow of my mum and told her I was a real lady now. My mum used to put on a white clay mask on her face every Sunday. This white face intrigued me and so did the Sunday ritual. She had a subscription to a beauty magazine with beauty offers and I could not wait to get my hands on that. I remember my first eye shadow kit from Lancôme. By putting that on I really dreamed I was Isabella Rossellini.
Beauty is not just a dream, but for me has everything to do with rituals. Rituals who are passed on from mother to daughter. Rituals you perform every day. It is more than just putting a beauty product on your face. It has everything to do with me time, with taking good care of one self. With self love.
Later on in life my professional career brought me to the beauty industry. As a PR professional I had the privilege to work for major beauty brands such as Prada, Givenchy, Kenzo, Bulgari, Versace, Nina Ricci, Sisley Paris and many others. I got a huge insight in the world of beauty. How products were developed, about ingredients, about the skin. And also about costs. The question rose if good skincare really needed to be sometimes that expensive? I remember working for Yves Rocher a brand that advocates that good beauty products should be available to every woman.
That idea of asking fair prices for good products stayed with me throughout the years. And when traveling to Korea and Japan in particular I was captivated by the amount of beauty brands on the market. And especially by the advanced and innovative technology, the sheer textures, the effective products and the affordable prices.
K-beauty maybe the it word nowadays. But Korea has a Research & Development and manufacturing history for over 70 years now. Korean manufactures have been producing for big Western global brands for many years now. With these expertise they develop only the best, safest and highest qualitative beauty brands against consumer friendly prices.
That is why my goal to introduce these wonderful products to you and that Korean beauty brands will become as mainstream as the French.
There are many Korean beauty brands in the market and even I as a self acclaimed beauty expert for over 20 years in the beauty industry I understand that it is quite a challenge to select a brand or product for you. Where to begin?
That is why I personally selected Korean beauty brands I believe in. One of the most important properties from me are that the brands are vegan, cruelty free and natural and that the products are free from parabens, sulphates and other damaging chemicals. So every brand and every product is carefully chosen and tested to only bring you out the best and effective products for your skin.
